June 2015 - playlist

So summer has arrived and it's time for a list of songs that get parties started and get you ready for the day. (Need the good tunes to get you through sticky bus rides and crowded TTC trips down town).

Youtube platlist:

1. Matt & Kim - Hey Now
This has been my alarm for the past 4 months... Watching this video gives me the energy  I need to get my butt out of bed and into a shower.. Get it Kim. GET. IT.

2. HOLYCHILD - Running Behind
I first heard HOLYCHILD while shopping for Simpsons T-Shirts at UNIQLO in NYC. I Shazamed " "Happy With Me" and haven't stopped listening to them since. I love the "Beat of My Heart"/ "Girl"  Diplo-esque drums. I tend to listen to this in the shower.

3. Little Mix - Black Magic
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHH GIRL.
Summer 2015 is owned by this song. PERFECT POP. The video is perfect. Inspired by the Craft. All I need is this.
I have made it a habit to listen to this after I buy my morning coffee and I walk to work.

4. M.O - Preach
Good to see one half of Mini Viva still going at it. I love the throwback 90s outfits and the simplicity of the video. very TLC.

5. Hilary Duff - Confetti
This came on shuffle at work on my IPod. I lost my mind at the 2:45 mark when she samples "Heaven is a Place on Earth." This song has turned me into confetti.

6. Tkay Maidza - U-Huh
Double Aussie hit coming up next. I like how this reminds me of old Estelle or even Lady Sov. They way she ends her lines in the verses is so weird and so memorableeeeee.

7. Betty Who - Heartbreak Dream
This song blows my mind every time. Saw her live at NXNE this past week (second time I've seen her in eight months) and she to me is the most perfect popstar.

8. Bonnie McKee - Bombastic
I too am filled with tiger blood.

9. Young Wold Hatchlings - You Lovely You
This is what becomes exciting when you're half asleep and drinking your first coffee.

10. Carly Rae Jepsen - Bucket
Throwing it back a few years.... saw Carly at Sound Academy opening for Mariana's Trench and jumped around to this one and all the kids around me just gave me the dirtiest looks... cut to a year later and "Call Me Maybe" blew up.....

11. Penguin Prison - Never Gets Old
I like listening to this one while walking home from the bus. Sun above me, eyes squinty because I don't have prescription sunglasses....

12. Andy Grammar - Honey, I'm Good
I like how this is partially country and not country at all..

13. Kiesza - Stronger
I saw the Broadway Cast perform this at the Tony Awards this year and I didn't think I'd like it so much.. Kiesza's delivery smashes Matt Morrison's.... SMASHES.
